UFC 86 Results - Tyson Griffin decisions Marcus Aurelio

Turns out Aurelio didn't have jitters for his UFC debut against Clay Guida, he just didn't have the tools required. Tonight's fight with Tyson Griffin definitely cemented that fact. Aurelio seemed to have no game plan and just kind of of stood there throwing a random punch or two.

I forgot how much of an aggressive little tank of muscle Tyson Griffin was. He has some great stand up that he wasn't afraid to use even with the shorter reach. He initiated and dominated the stand up portions of the fight with ease. When the fight did go to the ground due to Tyson putting it there he showed great ground and pound landing some good strikes and completely thwarting any submission attempts Aurelio managed to muster up.

I gave Aurilio too much credit based on his fights against lesser competition the likes of Griffin and Guida. He's done, stick a fork in him, he already lost to two of the fighters that are near the top of the division and will show about the same if not worse against Franky Edgar or Sean Sherk. Will Dana give Tyson a shot at BJ Penn now?
